Hi all I am a veteran with bad credit. It became bad after a divorce, i am disabled vet from Iraq, i can afford a little over $750 for a mortgage, I live in arkansas and I don't know who or what I need. I have the VA loan, but doesn't know exactly how that works, so what are some of the steps to getting a loan?

I have a VA loan. You need to of course find a house you can afford with that sort of mortgage payment. Go to it shows you all the houses in your area, etc. Secondly you will have to have income to prove to the lender (bank) you can pay it. The VA loan paperwork gets sent off to regional VA office in your area, you wait forever, and it shows up late. Contact the VA at your local court house for any special things relating to disabled vets. Good luck.

Check into getting a VA loan because goodness knows you're entitled to it. My son was explaining a VA loan to me recently but I'm not real clear on a few things. I'm pretty sure that you don't have to have a down payment. Get online or have someone take you to check on the VA loan. Good luck.
